Imagine a world where classrooms are powered by artificial intelligence, teachers effortlessly adopt cutting-edge technologies, and students thrive with personalized, innovative learning experiences. At Texas A&M University, we're making this vision a reality through our groundbreaking Innovative Teaching Fellows (ITF) program.
As part of the ITF team, I've seen firsthand how we're not just talking about innovation—we're actively shaping the future of education. Our mission is clear yet powerful: encourage faculty to embrace emerging technologies like AI, Canvas, and interactive classroom tools. By doing so, we're helping educators transform their teaching methods, moving beyond traditional boundaries, and significantly enhancing student success.
The ITF program envisioned transforming education through innovation and it isn't about imposing pre-packaged solutions. Instead, we're focused on addressing real-world challenges that faculty encounter daily. By identifying specific pain points, we collaborate closely with educators to develop customized AI-driven solutions. The goal? Meaningful, measurable improvements in teaching effectiveness and streamlined administrative processes.
The heart of our initiative is our remarkable group of ITF fellows. Six educators from diverse fields across Texas A&M's College Station campus have joined our AI track, pioneering exciting new ways to integrate AI into their classrooms:
-
Cindy Raisor, Bush School of Government & Public Service
-
Bangning Zhang, School of Public Health
-
Rafael Landaverde, College of Agricultural and Life Sciences
-
John Williams, College of Education and Human Development
-
Lisa Troy, Mays Business School
-
Robert Hardin, College of Agricultural and Life Sciences
These inspiring educators aren't just participants—they're trailblazers, actively experimenting with AI tools tailored specifically to their unique educational challenges.
