Clarence Manglal-lan, Program Specialist II, manages the development, implementation, and assessment of the initiatives of the Center for Teaching Excellence. His role consists of coordinating the programs of the CTE, leading evaluations and assessments, fostering outreach and engagement, and supporting administrative operations of the Center. Additionally, he participates with the Director of Educational Development and Recognition on advancing collaboration between leadership and staff and reinforcing initiatives towards achieving the Center’s mission and goals.
He is enthusiastic about leadership development and service through servant leadership. Clarence has practiced those values through his various directorship/leadership roles in service organizations, volunteer committees/boards, and civic engagement involvements. His experience includes assisting with the management of government agency operations, facilitating field research of social-economic study projects, and engaging in non-partisan voter participation and electoral operation work.
Clarence received his Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Texas A&M University, where he served as Vice President of Municipal Affairs for the TAMU Student Government Association during his undergraduate studies. He has served as the Lead Adviser with the Texas-Oklahoma District of Kiwanis International’s service leadership program on Key Club, and as a Member of the Fort Worth Teen Court Board of Directors. He has advised and mentored students on various areas such as organizational law and regulation guidance, administrative project management, and professional interpersonal communication.
