Who can apply? Faculty and staff that support teaching.
Purpose: The Canvas Learning Community is a year-long program designed to bring together instructors dedicated to enhancing their Canvas course design and instructional practices. Through bi-weekly meetings, participants will engage in a collaborative space, explore strategies for building accessible, student-centered courses, and examine best practices in building a Canvas course using various Canvas features. The community offers a supportive environment for sharing experiences, reflecting on teaching practices, and fostering continuous improvement in Canvas and beyond.

Learning Outcomes:
Develop your Canvas skills through the completion of a six module, self-paced Canvas training course focused on core features.
Apply core features of Canvas to design and manage accessible, student-centered learning experiences across face-to-face, hybrid, and online modalities.
Engage with fellow faculty and CTE facilitators in bi-weekly meetings to build both foundational and advanced knowledge of Canvas features and best practices for digital teaching and learning.
Provide feedback on the course to support its ongoing improvement and long-term sustainability.
Apply core features of Canvas to design and manage accessible, student-centered learning experiences across face-to-face, hybrid, and online modalities.

Expectations:
Attend five bi-weekly meetings in the Fall and six bi-weekly meetings in the Spring semester. The tentative meeting schedule has been provided below.
Engage in foundational learning related to Canvas.
Completion of the Canvas training course at the end of the year-long program.
Become a Canvas champion for your field of study.

Timeline:
Applications open on July 14th, and they close on July 30th, 2025.
Applicants will be notified of the decision during the week of August 8th, 2025.

Tentative Meeting Schedule:
Specific dates will be determined based on participants' availability. Please review the proposed weeks for the learning community biweekly meetings. Each meeting will last one hour.
