Emerging Technologies Learning Communities Overview
The Emerging Technologies Learning Community is a year-long Faculty Learning Community designed to help faculty thoughtfully explore and integrate emerging technologies into their teaching. Participants will consider how emerging technologies can be meaningful within their disciplinary, teaching, and student contexts. Throughout the learning community, faculty will explore emerging technologies, examine their potential opportunities and challenges, and apply evidence-based approaches to designing learning experiences that incorporate them. Through regular collaborative meetings, participants will share cross-disciplinary perspectives, experiment with new approaches, and reflect on how technology can support meaningful learning experiences. Participants will have opportunities to develop an accessible learning experience that incorporates an emerging technology and to gather student feedback on the learning experience. The learning community will provide a supportive environment for collaboration, reflection, experimentation, and innovation. It will also help build a community of faculty who can continue to share and advance effective teaching practices across the institution.
