CTE Position and Role
Thane Miles works with the Digital Learning team at the Center for Teaching Excellence to support interactions and partnerships between the center and its constituents. This includes communications, learning management system support, and developing procedure and policy documentation.
Relevant Academic and Professional Experience
Before joining the university, Thane worked primarily as the General Manager of the Potbelly Sandwich Shop in town, where they gained experience running business operations, managing and training teams, and analyzing key performance indicators to improve business flow and customer relations. In addition to Potbelly, Thane has worked as an apprentice pet groomer, in retail at Halloween City, as a substitute teacher, and as a wooden sword seller at the Texas Renaissance Festival. While attending Texas A&M University, Thane also became President of LGBTQ Aggies, spoke on panels regarding Queer History at A&M, and was involved in the creation of an environmental change podcast, Our Earth Rising, through the Aggie Research Scholars Program.
Professional Profile
With an emphasis on efficiency and adaptability, Thane is committed to ensuring smooth communication and efficient service to support A&M Faculty within the Digital Learning Environment. She also uses her problem resolution experience to analyze and update existing processes to alleviate confusion for both Faculty and CTE staff. With a strong desire to serve others and maintain a strong work ethic, Thane is excited to apply their experience to further Texas A&M's Mission and Values.
