Bahman Shahri, Ph.D.

ahman Shahri received his Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Ohio University. He has a master’s degree in General Linguistics and bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad in Iran. Dr. Shahri has more than twenty years of experience with teaching, leadership, research, student development, teacher preparation, supervision, faculty advising, and professional service in various educational settings. He has taught and designed a broad range of face-to-face, online, and hybrid courses and workshops as an adjunct professor and graduate assistant in the Department of Teacher Education at Ohio University. He was recently awarded and successfully completed the highly selective Albert Schweitzer Fellowship (ASF) at the Ohio State University. Dr. Shahri is interested in exploring equitable practices and innovative strategies to preparing and supporting future teachers and faculty with the necessary knowledge, skills, and disposition to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Dr. Shahri joined the Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) as a postdoctoral research associate in July 2021 and is currently working on evaluation and curriculum design activities with the aim of developing and supporting graduate teaching assistants and faculty across various departments at Texas A&M University. To this end, Bahman collaborates with CTE directors and staff to develop, implement, analyze, compose, and disseminate research that contributes to the national dialogue on graduate student and faculty professional development in teaching. He also develops resources and materials for course evaluation, professional development, and training opportunities for graduate students interested in college teaching in diverse institutional types.
