Form and Orient Team

Upon initiating a program (re)design project, one of the first tasks involves identifying your (re)design team. Typically, members of the team include the academic developer from the CTE, faculty leader(s) charged with overseeing the effort in the department, an academic advisor, faculty who teach in the department, a graduate student, and undergraduate student representatives. Once the team is identified, an initial meeting is held to introduce the team members to each other and to establish group dynamic expectations. The orientation meeting also serves to present the goals, requirements, and general overview of the (re)design process to the team, along with determining the department’s readiness for change by completing the Readiness for Change Questionnaire. Results of the questionnaire are shared in subsequent meetings, and the team discusses the scope of curricular change desired and the level support available to undertake the redesign project.
