Aggies Celebrate Teaching! – Recognizing Transformational Learning – acknowledges outstanding Texas A&M instructors and faculty members who, through their dedication to transformational teaching practices, have made a significant impact on their students.

Students have the opportunity to submit an essay nominating a professor they feel exemplifies transformational learning by challenging students to think in new ways, inspiring students to learn more deeply, supporting learning through transformation of educational experiences, and positively impacting students. Six winning essays were selected. The awards for the winning essays are an educational grant for the student and a grant to assist in ongoing research and treaching practices for the the professor. Both students and professors of the selected essays are invited to share their transformational learning experience at the annual awards reception.

The Center for Teaching Excellence will highlight faculty and their transformational teaching strategies in various ways - sharing on our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/TamuCTE/), highlighting on our web site (cte@tamu.edu), and showcasing award recipients at our Aggies Celebrate Teaching! event.

Transformational Teaching...
“teaching that encourages students to question assumptions and challenge beliefs… such that they emerge from the experience a changed perspective influencing interactions and contributions to a modern world.”

-Dr. Debra Fowler, Director of the Center for Teaching Excellence
