Dr. Carolyn L. Sandoval is the Associate Director for the Center for Teaching Excellence. In this role, she assists with the day to day operations of the Center, manages collaborations with faculty and department professional development in a variety of teaching related topics - including peer review of teaching and diversity & inclusion workshop. She designs and facilitates a variety of faculty development workshops including course design, active and collaborative learning, engaging students in online courses, teaching for diversity and inclusion across disciplines, and other topics related to teaching excellence. She also provides individual consulting to faculty and departmental consulting and workshops related to curriculum redesign, inclusive teaching, and peer review of teaching.

Carolyn has served as the lead consultant and facilitator for tenure and non-track New Faculty Institutes to prepare faculty for their teaching role at Texas A&M. She has worked in higher education for over 25 years and has extensive experience in teaching and has taught courses in social justice education, diversity and globalization, learning theories, and research methods. She has also provided consulting at various colleges and universities across the country and internationally.
